One Voice for All Hindu Organisations in Croydon

Welcome to the Croydon Hindu Council (CHC) website.

Croydon Hindu Council was founded in 2008. The main aim is to meet the widely felt need for a united voice for all Hindus living in Croydon. It is an inclusive organisation representing all Hindu faith denominations, all linguistic and regional communities of Hindus from different parts of world settled in the London Borough of Croydon and surrounding areas.

Its main purpose is to give all Hindus an effective voice on policies and services initiated by different departments of local and national government which affect their lives in Britain. CHC itself, however, is non-partisan faith related organisation, intent on good relations and community cohesion.

CHC is open to all Hindu organisations. It is managed by an Executive Committee. A Constitution has been approved and we are initially operating as a small charity.

Objectives of CHC

- To work with all Hindu organisations in the London Borough of Croydon and surrounding areas, towards fulfilment of their aspiration in practising and promoting Hindu Dharma and Hindu philosophy.
- To represent member organisations in the London Borough of Croydon at Governmental level and within Voluntary Organisations.
- To emulate good practice, to promote peaceful co-existence and good relations with other religious and cultural traditions through Education and Training as considered pertinent.
